The speed of sound In colloquial speech, speed of sound refers to the speed of sound waves in air. However, the speed of sound varies from substance to substance: typically, sound travels most slowly in gases, faster in liquids, and fastest in solids.


speed of sound is the distance travelled per unit of time by a sound wave as it propagates through an elastic medium as the speed of sound is how fast vibrations travel.


At 20 °C (68 °F), the speed of sound in air is about 767 mph, or a G note. It depends strongly on temperature as well as the medium through which a sound wave is propagating.


At 0 °C (32 °F), the speed of sound in dry air (sea level 14.7 psi) is about 740 mph while the air
carrying the sound is moving 1000 mph along with the earth in one of three directions at other
speeds.


For example, while sound travels at 767 mph in air, it travels in fresh water at 3312 mph at a temperature of 20 °C (68 °F)[2] more than 4.3 times as fast and at 11453 mph in iron  15 times faster... In an exceptionally stiff material such as diamond, sound travels at 26843 mph (39,000 ft/s),[3] – about 35 times its speed in air and about the fastest sound travels at under normal conditions on the surface of this pale blue dot called earth.

In reality, the speed of sound is actually the speed of sound induced vibrations.  Waves induced in the electronic magnetic geometry controlled lattice that molecules form as solids are moved by forces called sound as vibrations composing compression waves just as seen on in gases and liquids on their surfaces and are composed of the typed of wave called a shear wave, which is found occurring only in solids.

 Shear waves in solids travel at different rates than compression waves propagate, as exhibited in seismology. Where the speed of shear waves is determined completely by the solid material's shear modulus and density.

The speed of compression waves in solids is determined by the molecular arrangement determining the medium's compressibility, and shear modulus, at determined density. 


The anacoustic zone, also known as the zone of silence, is the region of the atmosphere of Earth above about 100 miles where the air density becomes so low that air molecules are not close enough to support transmission of sound waves within the hearing range.[1][2]

As altitude increases through the atmosphere, the first sound waves to disappear are the high pitched, high-frequency short wavelength ones. At about 100 miles even the lowest frequency tone that can be heard by a human being at around 20 Hz no longer can be transmitted.

With increasing radius from the earth, the atmosphere becomes more rarefied, increasing the mean time between collisions of molecules called mean free time. The maximum frequency a sound wave can have and still be able to propagate in a gas is roughly the inverse of the mean free time[3] (molecular mean free path divided by average molecular speed).

 Hence the more rarefied a gas medium, the lower is the maximum frequency for sound propagation in that medium.


What is heat?


 Water as a liquid is formed from H2O and the Hydrogen bond is what allows Oxygen to act

The primary source of energy  called heat is called the internal kinetic energy of the contained liquid molecules, which are said to transfer contained heat as energy to the surface molecules through density induced collisions. 

In boiling water, heat from some heat generating source is transferred to H2O in the liquid state where the 
properties of Octagons and Oxygen interact with the properties of Hydrogen and H shaped ideas of bonds 
holding this to that via an attraction requiring the generation of energy to resist resulting in friction the ion known as heat on a hot day and something else when it makes a difference. 

Take some wheat grown in the sun out of grainy rainy hot old dirt. Dry the wheat out. Grind the wheat back to grain. Mix the grain with H2O add a pinch of salt. Let the mixture dry by letting the water to back into the atmosphere where as soon as it will disappear it soon will  reappear. 

To add moisture back to the mixture mix the dried grain and salt with a little salt and enough water and apply heat to H2O in the transfer generating the ionic action that hot H2O has when heated. The water will work itself into the spaces it formerly worked itself out of as the action of the ions generates the ionic action that takes things apart with motion one way or the other in the world that is made of the and run by the in the way the likes the things to run.

In natural processes the water cycle is regulated in the regulating of this so called heat energy transfer and as the regulator is the source and the distributor and the thing itself it has to transfer, the this to the this and that to the that, comes from solar radiation warming the water body at the angle the sun is angled at all day long which is where the music begins to play and the light begins to bend into the visible spectrum of bends regulated by angles at the corner near the center and the center of the center until a new center comes along and consumes the old one as the containment is continuously contained within water shot of the containable seeking containment as the mother always welcoming the child waits wherever every where liquid energy ready to be the solution she all ways and always is.

Generating and absorbing heat in the process of processing water from this liquid state to that state of stated organization the ion straight out of Zion that generally is seen as liquidly ionic and oftener than not not liquid in the gaseous sense at all.

The absorbed energy (latent heat) is stored within the water molecules and called potential energy as they the molecules made of protons and electrons move from a more ordered, bound lattice liquid hydrogen bonded state to a less ordered independent electron proton pair gaseous state leading to the OH- H3O+ state of stated states with new new names containing the same old things made of the and the way the likes things to be.
